Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of media_sync (“the app”), a personal, local tool that lets a creator republish their own short-form videos to TikTok. The app is operated by Giuseppe V (“we”, “us”). By connecting your TikTok account and using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. Description of the service

media_sync runs locally on your computer. After you authenticate with your own TikTok account via TikTok’s Login Kit (OAuth), you select one of your own videos and the app uploads it to your TikTok inbox as a draft using TikTok’s Content Posting API. You review and finalize the post yourself inside the TikTok app. The app does not publish content publicly without you completing that step.

2. Eligibility and your account

You must have a valid TikTok account and meet TikTok’s minimum age and eligibility requirements. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your TikTok credentials and for all activity performed through your authenticated session.

3. Acceptable use

You agree that you will:

• Upload only content that you own or have all necessary rights to publish.
• Not use the app to upload third-party, scraped, infringing, unlawful, or otherwise unauthorized content.
• Comply with all applicable laws and with TikTok’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

You are solely responsible for the content you choose to upload and for finalizing any post within TikTok.

4. Relationship with TikTok

media_sync uses TikTok’s official APIs but is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by TikTok or ByteDance. Your use of TikTok is governed by TikTok’s own terms and policies. TikTok may change or restrict its APIs at any time, which may affect or disable the app’s functionality.

5. No warranty

The app is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that uploads will always succeed.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, content, or profits, arising from or related to your use of the app.

7. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time and revoke its access from your TikTok account settings. We may discontinue the app at any time.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
