media_sync (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is a personal, local tool that lets a creator republish their own short-form videos to TikTok. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app accesses, how it is used, and your choices. The app is operated by Giuseppe V. You can reach us at zepvalue@gmail.com.

By connecting your TikTok account to media_sync, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

What the app does

media_sync runs locally on your own computer. After you authenticate with your own TikTok account, you select one of your own video files and the app delivers it to your TikTok inbox as a draft. You then review and finalize the post inside the TikTok app. The app never publishes content on your behalf without you completing that step in TikTok.

Information we access

We access the minimum information needed to perform the action you request:

• TikTok account confirmation (user.info.basic). When you sign in through TikTok’s Login Kit (OAuth), we read basic profile information — your display name and account identifier — solely to confirm which account is authenticated and to display the connected username so you can confirm before posting. No other profile data is requested, used, or stored.
• OAuth access token. TikTok returns a token that authorizes the app to act on your behalf for the scopes you approve (user.info.basic, video.upload). The token is held only on your device for the duration of your session and is used exclusively to call TikTok’s API.
• The video you select. The MP4 file you choose is uploaded directly from your device to your own TikTok inbox using TikTok’s Content Posting API (/v2/post/publish/inbox/video/init/). We do not keep a copy of your videos.

Information we do NOT collect

• We do not collect analytics, usage tracking, advertising identifiers, or location data.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your information with any third party for marketing.
• We do not access, post, or process any content that is not your own. No third-party or scraped content is ever uploaded.

How information is used

The information above is used only to:

1. Confirm the authenticated TikTok account and show you the connected username.
2. Upload the video you select to your own TikTok inbox at your request.

Every action is initiated by you, the authenticated user, on your own content.

Sharing and disclosure

media_sync communicates only with TikTok’s official API in order to perform the actions you initiate. Your interaction with TikTok is also governed by TikTok’s Privacy Policy. We do not transmit your data to any other service.

Data retention

Because media_sync is a local tool, any access token is stored only on your device and only for as long as your session lasts. We operate no server that stores your personal data. You can revoke the app’s access at any time from your TikTok account settings → Security & permissions → Manage app permissions. Revoking access immediately prevents further use of the token.

Your rights

You may disconnect media_sync from your TikTok account at any time, which ends all access. If you have questions about your data, contact us at zepvalue@gmail.com.

Children’s privacy

media_sync is not directed to anyone under the age required to hold a TikTok account in their jurisdiction, and we do not knowingly process data from such individuals.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
